How FitCheck picks deals
A deal on FitCheck is an item that's cheap compared with what we recorded, not just compared with the "was" price a shop prints next to it.
ⓘ Price history started Oct 19, 2026; deal scores sharpen daily. Day 1 of tracking.
Where the numbers come from
Once a day we read each shop's public catalog and store the price of every product (the cheapest in-stock variant), whether it's in stock, and the shop's "compare at" price if it shows one. Nothing is back-filled or estimated. History starts on the day we started tracking a product.
The Deal Score (0–100)
- Our own history counts most. Points for how far today's price is below the highest price we saw in the past 7 days, or below its typical price. Typical is the median of the earlier daily prices we recorded in the last 30 days. A bonus is added when the item is at the lowest price we've seen.
- The shop's compare-at claim counts little. A claimed discount adds at most about a quarter of what a real, recorded drop adds. It counts even less when the shop marks 60% or more of its catalog as on sale, and almost nothing when an item has been "on sale" at the same price every day we've tracked it.
- Small adjustments: plus for a confident fitment, minus for "needs check" fitment, very cheap items, tiny dollar savings and non-USD prices. Sold-out items are never listed as deals.
The home page and the deal pages show the highest scores, with at most a few items per shop so one store can't take over the page. We don't hand-edit rankings.
The badges
- Lowest we've seen since Oct 19, 2026 Today's price is the lowest of all the daily prices we've recorded, and it was higher before. The date is when we started tracking, so the claim is never stretched beyond the history we have.
- 12% under typical (since Oct 19, 2026) Today's price vs. the median of the earlier daily prices. It reads "30-day" only once we really have 30 days.
- 8% above typical We've recorded lower prices recently.
- Listed as on sale every day we've tracked it The shop has shown a compare-at price above the selling price on every day we've checked, and the price hasn't moved. We need at least two daily checks before showing this.
- Shop lists most items as on sale A large share of that shop's catalog carries a compare-at discount, so a "sale" there tells you little on its own.
- Same price since Oct 19, 2026 No change in our checks so far.
Every card says where its crossed-out "was" price comes from: our price earlier this week, our typical price, or the shop's compare-at price (its claim). When we have both, our own history wins.
"Sale" prices that never change
A sale price that never changes is usually just the regular price. US pricing guidance (FTC Guides Against Deceptive Pricing, 16 CFR 233.1) says a "was" price should be one the item was actually offered at for a reasonable period. We don't judge any shop's intent. We just describe what we observed, e.g. "Listed as on sale every day we've tracked it", and give such claims little weight.
Shops where 60%+ of tracked items show a compare-at discount today: Teslarati Shop (78%), BASENOR (85%).
Codes
Codes come from each shop's own site. They're labelled Unverified until we've tested them at checkout. "About $X with code" appears only when the math is safe. See codes.
Sponsors and affiliate links
- FitCheck may earn a commission when you buy through links. It never affects our rankings, the Deal Score, the badges or the price history.
- Accessory brands may sponsor FitCheck, but a sponsor can only feature a deal that already qualifies on its Deal Score. Featured placements are always labelled "Featured" and never change a product's score, rank in the regular lists, or history.
- We list every product we track from a shop, not just the ones that pay. Details: affiliate disclosure.
Limits
Prices can change after our daily check. Fitment is extracted automatically and can be wrong. Low-confidence matches say "needs check" and are left out of deal lists. Always confirm price and fit at the shop before ordering.
